Journey to the picturesque Palatinate wine region and Heidelberg for castles and wine!
Itinerary
Morning departure, we travel to Heidelberg. Visit of the city’s castle, an imposing complex of Renaissance buildings. City sightseeing includes the Old Bridge, Germany’s first university of 1386 and the Holy Spirit Church, a gothic masterpiece.
Time to shop, then drive into the Palatinate wine region and visit the picturesque town of St Martin.
During a wine tasting, learn about the region’s excellent Riesling wines. Visit of Berwartstein castle, the only medieval castle in the Palatinate region that is still completely intact. As it has never been destroyed it stands as a perfect example of a typical German knight’s castle of the 13th century. After a guided tour of the castle there is time for a snack at the castle's former Knigh's Hall. Evening return.

Horizon Tours now offers a cancellation policy to our clients for a small additional fee. .This policy extends our current policy that allows military members to cancel their tour at no cost if the member is required to perform military duty on the date(s) of the tour. The new policy covers the client (you) in the event you are unable to participate in the tour after you have made payment for any of the following stated conditions:
1. Death of the client (or client’s spouse, child, or parent within 4 weeks of the date of the scheduled tour).
2. Illness of the client (or the client’s spouse, child, or parents) that prevents the client from participating in the tour and requires the client to care for their spouse, child, or parent. (Certification from a medical doctor is required). 3. Required military duty of the client’s spouse or parent if the client is traveling with the military member. This condition expands on our current policy that allows a refund if the client is a military member and is required to perform military duty during the date(s) of the scheduled tour. In this case, the military member’s spouse and /or children would be permitted to cancel the tour and be entitled to a full refund (less cancellation policy fee) if they did not wish to take the tour without their spouse/parent.
In the event you cancel a tour for any of the above stated conditions, Horizon Tours will refund the full amount of your tour price (less the cancellation policy fee). The cancellation fee listed in our pamphlet is per person.
